This is as far as I could get but thank you for trying.

Did they build another one on the same site called the same name ?
As I used to play Crib and Darts in the Mitre back in the 70s & 80s, was one of my locals.
Don't know if this helps

Elijah is my 2 x Great Grandfather, via Edward's youngest brother, Walter.
The Mitre (according to family folk lore) was one of 3 cottages, that was transformed into a beer house, and then a pub, by Elijah.
It was a Bullards House and Edward's brother Robert used to paint pub signs for them as a living, before moving first to the Isle of Wight to work for Queen Victoria and then onto New Zealand.

I have a picture of the original Mitre with my parents (the landlords) outside it together with a customer. I would be happy to provide you with a copy. It also appears on several postcards between 1910 and 1930 but they are scarce and pricey. Also of course there was wall separating the pub from the road and as most postcards concentrated on the street scene you do not see much of the pub

That would be brilliant.
My great-grandfather was born there and his father was the first landlord.
Thank you very much.
