Very interesting Willow.
There's an abundance of names here and it really throws a light on the every day life of the time.
I noticed that a nurse was admonished for hitting a child. Doesn't sound much like Charles Dickens!

well done willow!, I have an aunt who was born in Wolverhampton workhouse (the bilston road one) and even found a pic of the staff and the "Master" who signed her birth cert in google LOL
-
Thank you for the link, what an interesting document and how kind of the transcriber to make this available,
Lisa

I know Pat Galloway is responsible for transcribing the parish records that are available on the Wolverhampton website so she may be responsible for this as well

Managed to get through without any problem so your email must have worked Willow!
Interesting to see that there's a married couples block. Was this a more modern approach? I do remember reading some time back that couples who were unfortunate to find themselves in the workhouse were segregated into male and female accomodation.
