Thanks very much Mike, much appreciated, i didnt know anything about Roberts parents or siblings, he was my gg grandfather & died very young, shortly after the birth of his 3rd son, 2 of whom were later kia in WW1.  Must have been heartbreaking for my gg grandmother.

anyway, with your help, i can now begin to trace his parents & siblings.

Thanks again, Sharren.

thanks so much for your help Mike, Robert did marry Elizabeth Bent in Dec 1882, but as i didn't have a copy of the MC i didn't know these details.

Robert died on 3 sept 1887 at 31 Gladstone St. Loughboro, (27y) with your knowledge would you be able to locate his burial place for me?

Furthermore i have these details of his widows 2nd marriage & a subsequent son, would you mind seeing if you could expand on them if possible, thanks very much.

Elizabeth Sawbridge & Thomas Walton AMJ 1889 Loughboro 7a 62

Thomas Walton b: JFM 1891 Leicester 7a 229 however the 1901 census defines his birthplace as Harrogate, Yorks, the family were living in Harrrogate at 1901 so this could explain this anomaly, as i haven't located a birth registration for these dates in Yorks.

But as i don't have the 1891 census details its possible that the family were already at Harrogate & Elizabeth returned to Leicester for the birth.

Anyway whatever you can find out would be a bonus, thanks again for all the help you've already given me,  Sharren.

Greeting's Again Sharren.....

Sawbridge BURIAL Found :-

Place. / Names./ Dates./ Age. Last known address.
LOUGHBOROUGH ALL SAINTS   SAWBRIDGE   ROBERT   7   SEP   1887   27   GLADSTONE STREET

Now for the search for Thomas's birth ......

I think you can dismiss that Thomas you found ( JFM 1891 7a.229.)
This Thomas belongs to a Thomas & Mary.A. Walton living  at 102 1/2. Syston Street Leicester. (1891.Census.) aged 3 months old.

Did you see this one ? :-
Seeing it stated Elizabeth's place of birth on the 1901. Census as Billesdon.

BIRTH.
AMJ 1891.
Thomas William Walton.
Billesdon.
Cert No.7 a. 29.

Or there is this one :-

AMJ.1889.
Thomas Walton.
Keighley.
Cert No. 9a.194.

Thanks so much Mike,

not knowing much about the different registration districts in the Leicester area i obviously plumped for the 1st one in the right year that stated Leicester.  Billesdon may well be the correct one, she probably moved from her former home either after the 2nd marriage or for the birth, however, to be certain i'll ask for a reference check re: Elizabeths maiden name when i apply for the cert.  as this should be the same as on the earlier birth certs.

I doubt that Keighley one is the correct one as i dont know of any family connection to this area, & the Harrogate area was served by Knaresboro reg. district at this time.

Once again thanks for your time & assistance   :-*

I only drew your attention to that Billesdon one as I know
they would go home to Mother for the birth back in those days ...

should have known that myself, as quite alot of my yorkshire relatives did the same as can been seen from their offsprings certs.  But like i said i'm not as familiar with reg. districts that fall outside my native yorkshire, but i'll bear this in mind for future searches.

thanks again, sharren :)

Have you checked out the Sawbridge family on Facebook? There is a chap, Ronald Sawbridge who has done a family tree going back to 1550.
he sent my branch to me some time ago.
My family come from Leicester, and some of them the St. Margaret's Parish, but I do not know of a link to yours.
