Hi
Sorry for my ignorance about the area, I looked on the net and there is also a Radnor in Pennsylvania USA, so needed a conformation.
I have looked on the 1841 census for you and a family of Gittoes, but can only find 2 Elizabeths but the ages are born in 1801 and the other is born in 1833. There is a family with quite alot of children but the parents are Elizabeth and Edward? ::)
Maybe someone else can find it better than me but I hope you find them soon

having been born and brought up in area and researching my own tree in the same area. My advice would be to also look at the herefordshire census as Colva is right on an area which fluctuated between radnorshire and herefordshire on differnet censuses. yloun couild also look under Brilley as they were often put together

I have looked in the index on 'find my past ' and can see 2 Eliza Gittoes both born 1821 one in Builth and one in
Presteigne . the on I want is probably the presteigne one but could be other one.
Could anybody look at these and give me more detail please.

Hi,
I 'think' that I have found Eliza - transcribed as Eliza Ettos living at Danyvone (I think) Colva with the Lloyd family. The census sheet that I am working from is very faint. Her age is down as 15 but as ages were rounded in the 1841 I think that this is the best fit.
Father and mother John and Sarah are at Hill House - they are transcribed at Gittoy! John is listed as a farmer.
Hope that this helps

Thanks for that.Look right. any chance of the details of the lloyds :)
-
Thomas Lloyd aged 30
Elizabeth Lloyd - aged 55
Those were the only two Lloyds with Eliza. There were Lloyds next door too at Llwynshorndorthy (I think)
Benjamin aged 60 (was he Elizabeth next doors husband?)
Benjamin aged 20
Mary and Caroline both aged 15
Jane 11
Beware of 'rounded ages'
Happy hunting

Llwynshorndorthy is Llan-Shon-Dorthy on the modern OS maps.
Danyvone is Dan-y-fron on the modern OS maps.
