I am looking for information on David Andreas Maree (born +/-1870-1880 Kroonstad?) his first wife was Sussara Maria Van Staden. She died 5 April 1902 in Kroonstad. She was 21yrs old. They had one son, Hendrik Johannes Maree(my great grandfather), who married Dorothea Maria Badenhorst.
I cannot find his death certificate or information about his second marriage. I know they had a family farm, Welverdruk in the Kroonstad area. We are guessing he was born there, married there and even died there.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I dont know how popular the name is but there is a Marriage on the IGI...Could it be his parents?

Thanks, but that's part of the problem, the name is very popular and the spelling is often changed Andreas for Andries, David for Dawid.
I am new to this all, what is IGI? The marriage date ties in as we think DA Maree was born 1870-1880. I am just not sure about Winburg...

It will say National Automated Archival Information Retrieval System - click onto it
On the right hand side at the bottom is search - click on
Look for RSA, this is ALL THE ARCHIVES - click on
Put in the name eg David Andreas, next line put in Maree then click on search
AND BOB'S YOUR UNCLE ! Info ! It doesn't always happen unfortunately >:(
Went back and discovered that when clicking onto the David Andreas 1948 it
stated that Cornelia Margaretha Maree born Nel was the surviving spouse.

My grandfather was David Andreas Maree of the farm Welverdruk, Kroonstad, Orange Freestate. Out of his second marriage to Dorothea Cornelia Aucamp, 7 children was born. I am the youngest son of Hendrik Christoffel Maree who was in turn his parents youngest son. I still farm on the farm Welverdruk, where my grandpa, David Andreas Maree is buried.
