I have an old family tree with Sarah S Tompkins born in Marsh Gibbon 1874
Also it has a Sarah A Tompkins born in Marsh Gibbon 1867 - Father James Tompkins born in Marsh Gibbon 1838.

The tree spans from 1753  up to 2000

 Is that any help?

Regards,
Lynn

Many thanks for the post Lynn - I can't immediately spot those Thompkin's on my tree - though they are bound to be relations of the ones I have. The link I have is on my wife's family - we have her Great grandad, William Jennings, a farm worker and member of the village Morris Men, married to one Ellen Tompkins. She was born c 1856 and the daughter of William Thompkins  and wife Sarah Clements. This William has been traced back by family members to as early as 1592 when an ancestor  some 7 generations back was married in Bicester , Oxfordshire (John Thompkins and wife Barbara Finch.
I suspect we'd be able to tie up yours with ours - do you have your James's parents?
