Dugald McFarland
Agnes McFarland
Agnes (daughter born 1831)
This is all I know of the family except daughter Agnes married John Wright in Glasgow in 1854. Her death certificate gave her parents name and that she was born in Dumbarton. Mother was nee Morrison.

Yes! this is my family that came out to New Zealand in 1865, is there any chance of picking up Agnes on an earlier census before she married John Wright?
Thanks

No luck did Agnes have any siblings.

Sorry I know very little about her, she had 3 more children after they arrive in NZ, one being my Grandfather James and then Agnes died of cancer aged 45. So apart from what was on her death certificate giving her parents names I know no more about her.
Thanks for looking for me

Trying to find any information about my great uncle Peter Colin Blair McIntyre. Born Dumbarton on 24th July 1889 to John & Catherine McIntyre (nee Campbell) brother of John Campbell McIntyre and Agnes McIntyre. John moved to Birkenhead (Merseyside ) Agnes to New Jersey but we have lost all trace of Peter. any information about any members of the family would be appreciated. Jeanette McIntyre

Hi Sonoftherock,
Just registered with this site and noticed your query ref Catherine McIntyre - your wife's great grandmother. She is also my direct descendant as her daughter Mary was my great grandmother. Not sure if you are still online or with this forum. I have the answers to your many questions but will await some response to confirm you are still with us before I put pen to paper.
Yours, Matt

Hi, sorry to disappoint you but, my Catherine McIntyre was Catherine Campbell before she married my great grandfather John McIntyre. They lived in Dumbarton all their lives but 2 of their children moved; John Campbell McIntyre, my grandfather moved south to Birkenhead, Agnes, his sister, moved to the U.S.A.. I'm still trying to track her down.
The McIntyres must be related as so many of them lived in Dumbarton and lived as very close neighbours, if not with each other. My Catherine was the daughter of John McIntyre and Hannah Broadley.
Thanks to the recent posts I've decided to carry on with the search, almost ready to give up.

Hello, I understand this is an old post however I have a family line of McIntyres around Helensborough/Alexandria Dumbartonshire. My maternal grandmother was Helen Chapman McIntyre (born circa 1905, Renton) daughter of Alexander McIntyre and Margaret Bain. I'm running into a deadened after this.

Hi BG,
Sorry to the best of my knowledge none of these names have any connection with my McIntyres.
Best Wishes,
David.
