Title: Quest to find Great War soldier's family
Post by: jacqlineue on Wednesday 07 October 09 10:21 BST (UK)
In my local paper there is an article about a person looking for the family of a WW1 soldier.  This person has a family photo and a silk souvenir which was found in the back of an old picture in the South of France.  The soldier was called Henry Freer and he was in the 54th East Anglia Division Cyclist Company attached to the 1st/5th Battalion Kings Own Scottish Borderers in the middle east.  He lived in Wellingborough and died on March 15th 1918 aged 24.  Henry had 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
