Title: Antonio & Ellen(Burke) POLA QLD

Can anyone help with information on this family I have them living in Mount Morgan 1913.Ellen was born Victoria 1863 and Antonio was born Brusio Switzerland c1871 they lived in Malmsbury after their marriage then it seems went to QLD.
Any help greatly appreciated

They're both in Mt Morgan where Antonio is a miner in 1919.
There's also an Anthony Pola at a different address in Mt Morgan.


I can't find Antonio after that.   :-\

I thought they had died there, but cant find records of death in Mt Morgan, there is the name Pola in Mount Morgan Cemetery but not Ellen and Antonio

There are two births showing to this couple in Qld which I am assuming are yours

Pola Peter Antonio Pola born 1901 reg no C6605
father  Louis Antonio mother  Ellen O'Brien


Pola William Louis   born 1899 reg no C6539
father Louis Antonio  mother  Ellen O'Brien

Hmmm dont think so .............mother was Ellen Burke.Children born in Victoria Malmsbury Mary Alice 1896,Corinna Lucy 1898,James Anthony 1901,Katarina,Vincent

will take a look there, I am learning a little about the miners in Queensland as Antonio or Anthony Pola went to Mount Morgan with the family I think it was for gold mining.

Thats great thankyou........ 1922 and still a miner I suppose he is only around 51

I dont have access to Qld records, Ellen Pola was my ggrandfathers sister

It will be very difficult to know which couple is which in  the electoral rolls!!!

Ellen Therese (Burke) Pola is in Rockhampton 1954 are there any cemetery records for there.I found one site but no luck

A bit late in the conversation but i have an Annie Pola, daughter of Antonio and Ellen, married Edward Cliffe, lived in Yeppoon and Rockhampton and Central West, died and buried in Rockhampton. They had a son and two daughters, son ----- , Marie  (Hallett d. 2016) and Faye (Bowtell, d. 2000)
I have traced family links from Malsbury to Queensland and around - have 4 generations from Annie.

Thanks - I was at Marie's funeral in Rockhampton. She was the last of my aunties and the last of that generation for our family. We now have 3 generations with the fourth looming large!!
