Hi 16alfie,
a warm welcome to rootschat.
I love the photo he looks a no nonsense preacher!
I recon to find his date of birth the only way is backwards from yourself.
You say he had 9 children.
Do you have any of the children s birth details.
Then look for his marriage details.
being a minister there should be heaps of info on his career.
regards,Billy.

Hi,

 :)

Welcome to Rootschat.

I think this is his marriage from Free BMD so using this you will be able to send off for his marriage certificate.  You can apply online to www.gro.gov.uk and they cost £7.00.

Sep 1842
Lewis Williams/Louisa Roberts
Merthr Tydfil 26 453

Once you have this, you will know his father's name.

Will also PM you.

Hi,

Just sent you a PM but forgot  ::) (thanks Maidmarion) that you have to post 3 times to send or receive PM's.

If you post a couple of replies on this thread, you will be alright and hopefully you will get my PM automatically.  If not, let me know and I will resend.

Thanks for all the replies I do have the marriage cert for lewis he was married in 1842 and his fathers name was william williams and he was a tailor  but that is as far as i can get. The weslyan ministry have sent details of the areas he preached in, he was converted to the ministry around 1828 and his parents were members of the society. He died in 1884.
There  are so many williams in liverpool it seems impossible at the moment.

To Whom it May Concern

The above photo of Lewis William is fantastic and I have just downloaded it from ancestry to place in my son-in-law's family-tree.  My s-i-law is descended from Albert Spencer Williams and Margaret Edwards through their youngest son Clement.

Thank you to the lady and descendant who placed the photo there.

regards, Palmeri
