Title: Robertson/Reid -Longside New Deer1850
Post by: Lynj on Friday 11 March 05 11:58 GMT (UK)
Hi all
I am looking for information on the Robertson family.
George Robertson (farm Servant)was married to Bathia Reid in 1850 in Cruden and had 7 children, mostly born in Longside, others in Millhill, Old Deer.
Bathia was daughter of William Reid and Agnes Summers.
The Robertson family were living at Dens Old Deer according to 1881 census.
Does anyone have any info about these families at all?
With thanks
Lyn from Australia

Hi Brian,

I huge welcome to RootsChat.

I am very sorry but Llyn's email notifications have not been working for quite a while  :'( I have made a little not underneath her profile name.

We get members getting in touch after years of not using RootsChat, lets hope that Llyn sees your reply and contacts us.

You may wish to start off a new topic for your own research on the Robertson family :)

Regards

Sarah

Well its only been 15 years since I last did any research!!! You can't rush these things :)

I have started up researching again, just this minute, so if anyone has any information on the above family/ies I would love to hear from them.

I am descended from the George Robertson b 1855 at Longside who with his wife Christian nee Johnston went on to have 11 children and their 3rd child, WIlliam is my grandfather who went to Australia I believe around 1907. William was born at Hythie Kininmonth.

Hi Lynette,
So glad that you have come back to the research.
I’ve also returned after a fairly long hiatus!

I’m related to George Robertson and Christina/Christian Johnston through their son George and his daughter Jessie Smith Robertson who is my great grandmother. Jessie’s daughter emigrated to Australia in the 50s. Can’t say I’ll have much more than you, but nice to know there are some more extended family here.
