this all the information  i have found on this family so far...
I would like to find out if there are any descendant's of this family still in the area..

LDS film 255828 page 61 lists the Civil birth of Thomas Allen, born 28 May 1871.
Birth registered in Drumshanbo Registrar’s district
Father Thomas – mother Bessy Reilly.

Your family are listed in both the censuses listed below:

hi, i found your info whilst looking for info regarding my grandads family in drumshanbo. My grandad was called john thomas allen and his father was francis allen who you have on your list (he died in 1932) and was married to margaret moran...They had a large family and i will have to get the list of names off my mum. why are you researching? are you also a decendant of the allen family of drumshanbo?

my great grandfather Thomas Allen was brother to ur grandfather.
Thomas had a son john Allen who is my grandfather.
This part of the family ended up in Wigan Lancashire.
Not much more knowen about the family to date.

I'm curious to find out if we have a connection some how.  My family of Allens are from County Monaghan as well..... I've been in contact with a man who has a patrick allen as his grandfather.

My great grandfather has an uncle thomas..... I know this thread is old, so if anyone comes across this again, please contact me at (*)

hi there my name is kirsty. my nan hannah walker camed from lancashier and her mums name was ada allan she married my great grandad george walker they use to work on boats. i no my nan had 2 sisters that i no off one older and one younger sister my nan went on to marry my grandad joesph samuel hambridge in brentford 1939 and i think my great nan and great grandad camed from ireland as i do no i have irish blood in my family i hope this helps you in any way and it would be nice to no if i have any family out there some where. thank you very much

hi there i was just thinking did the alans family work on boats going up to brentford and birmingham as i no that my nans family worked on boats her mum name was ada alan she married george walker i think they deliver coal as i no that my grandads family hambridge did my nans name was hannah walker she married joseph samuel hambridge in brenford middlesex im there granchild. :)

my name is Tina Allen I am a descendent of the Allen's from Drumshambo my father was Alf Allen and his dad was frank Allen whose father was Francis who married Margret Moran.  My grandfather moved to Ballymote and married Mary Kate Hughes he was a postmaster they then moved to South Yorkshire and lived in Edlington his brother john lived in Bircotes I would like to be able to see your family tree if possible.

My Granddad John Allen born June 1901, Yes  Lizzi (Allens ) son still lives in drumshanbo.
My Granddads Father Francis Allen was born in 1861 ,died nov 1932, Married Margaret Moran who died 1909 aged 45 Francis and Maggie had 11 Children but sadly died in child birth along with a sibling. Francis Allen Mygreat  Grandfather and i guess the elder siblings helped bring the !0 children up.
John Allen my late Granddad moved  over to England to look for work were he met my late Nanna Marjorie (Taylor) they married and lived in Edlington Doncaster they had 10 children them selfs , there eldest child died when he was 2 sadly. My Granddad moved to Bircoates his brother Frank (Francis) and his wife Mary-Kate also lived in Edlington Lizzie Allen My Granddads sisters Son still lives up to 2 years ago in drumshanbo we visited him he had lots of pics  of family members and took us to the House were My granddad lived growing up. Im so proud of my  late Granddad John Allen him and my Nanna had 10 children 23 grandchildren 33 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchild.
