Title: James & Bridget Lantry of Kings Co
Post by: Jack2023a on Saturday 19 December 09 10:18 GMT (UK)

Help needed - not sure where to look for information re: my early ancestors of Kings Co.  James & Bridget must have been married between 1760 - 1780.

James and Bridget LANTRY of Kings County, Bangher.
(Bridget's maiden name started with an 'R')

They had a large family being Catholics.

one child that I know of was Patrick Lantry b. 1798 who married a Bridget Donoghue had at least 8 sons.  Patrick's wife bridget died - and Patrick married Catherine Doorley about 1843, and rared 6 more children.  In 1865 Patrick and his family mirgrated to Australia.

My older late grandfather (b. 1899) once stated that his people originated from Co Cork prior to 1750's.

Any help is most  appreciated.

Hello Bryan,

I've just come across your post. I too am a descendant of this family. Patrick was my gggrandfather, his son James is my ggrandfather.
Have you gained any more information in the past 13 years and through which line are you descended from. Bridget Donoghue (1) or Catherine Dooley (2) married to Patrick?

Hi Cheryl
I'm from Patrick and Catherine's line - migrated to Australia.
Unable to find any info in regards to Bridget (Patrick's first wife) - only that she had a large family, 9 sons 2 daughters - only 2 sons are counted for.  Not sure what happened to the youngest Caroline (or Catherine) b. 1841, or John b. 1840.
