Hi,
Yes, I'm researching the Drapers ( although taking a break at the moment).
My mother's maiden name was Draper and I've managed to trace them back from Liverpool to Lincoln in the early 1800's.

Will share info if necessary, send me a pm.
Regards, Olly

Albert son 16
Kirza daur 14
Ellen    "     13
Amy      "    9
Alice     "     8      I think she married John Overall

In 1881  they lived at 13 Derby Road Middlesex
On Ada's marriage certificate they lived sat 13 Dunlace Road, Lower Clapton.

Hello
I have Drapers in my family tree as well, so far I haven't been able to find anything else about them:

1851 census:
Caythorpe Road, Donington, Lincs
Charlotte WOOD (wid), 28, Annuitant, Gosberton (nee DRAPER)
George WOOD, 7, Notts Mansfield
William Draper WOOD, 7, Gosberton
Elizabeth DRAPER (lodger, wid), 68 Annuitant, Fullerby
Sarah A CLARKE (vis), 19, Gosberton,
Mary A Willson (vis), 14 Gosberton

Charlotte DRAPER married George WOOD in 1841, I have the marriage certificate on order.  I think her parents were William and Elizabeth.  If anyone knows has any information about these people I would be very grateful.

Just located your message.  Have only just started on the Draper family as they have a connection with the Pitmans from Portesham.  Ethel Kate Draper born 1885 location unknown married Samuel Thomas Pitman in Portesham.  That is all I know about the Drapers so would be grateful for anything.

Yes I did hear of it, I presume it's because a Draper married a Smith and a Smith is a Traveller. My Farher was denied to marry because he was in prison, he wanted to marry a Jacqueline Bowen in 1989 but the judge wouldn't let him marry her inside or outside of prison due to his conviction and sentence. I don't think he was a traveller because I was told he lived in a flat in Colwyn Ave London with his brother and his wife. How much do you know about your Draper family? Could you find out if Your grand fathers cousin could be my father? X

I have met your dad Sidney Draper lots of times , he used to be in the same visiting room as my husband in Long Lartin , between the years 1994 to 2000 . Sidney was visited by his girlfriend Rose , a blond haired lady who owned horses and stables . Last time i heard about Sidney he had been moved to Wellingborough prison and was set for release . I think that was around 2014 . We don't know where he went from there . He was very popular with other inmates and was a very clever man . I hope he is doing well for himself and has not passed over , I did read that he has passed away over seas , but i am not sure if i believe this i would want solid evidence . Some people don't want to be contacted so remain in hiding . But i do hope and wish for the best for all ...

On Sidney Draper , further information i have been given by a friend of his is that Sidney was moved to Blantyre House Prison in Kent where he was released from around 2003/2004 . His friend Anthony Edwards met Sidney in Kent where Sidney was living at the time , Anthony got the impression that Sid was no longer in a relationship . At that time Sidney was in good health . There was no talk of Sidney moving abroad to live.

I met sid and rosie, around 2001-2 . We spent xmas and new year with them, they had a finca with a few stray dogs theyd taken in. On the costa del sol.up in hills,Although they were thinking of moving, as lights were appearing on the hillside opposite, hed say if i can see them, they can see me. they wanted to be remote. SHe would pick us up a few towns down. Around el hourin.  He was fit and healthy around late 50s at time.  His young son would visit him. Never knew of any other kids. Lad was around 10 i think. Fussy eater. Rosie never had any kids. Her family were land owners, they also owned big buildings up in liverpool. I had some pics wed taken with instant cam. Have not heard about him for years, always thought he was still out of jail, never captured. He lived a quiet simple life, He was a lovely fella.
