Hi all
Could someone please see if they can find a marriage for a Mary Magree father Nicholas.
I have found an article on Beta for a Patrick Magree recently arrived from Kilkenny 1858 looking for his sister Mary Magree.
Wondering if this is my Patrick Magree C-1835 Co Kilkenny.Who married Catherine Dunne in 1860 in South Australia.
Thanks for looking.

Checked VIC deaths from 1836-1985 nothing showing positive for her but there are a handful that are UNKNOWN on one or both parents and several more that could have Magree mispelt.
-
Hi Kris,Rayleen & Merlin
Kris thanks for the shipping info.I think it would take a lot to link these three ladies.
Raylene thanks for looking but i think that Mary would have been born around the 1830's which fits in with the shipping info.
Merlin that is the problem with this if found it as m'gree magree mcgree magee so you never know.

Hi Merlin
Yes he did have a good innings but some of that was in jail.He and his wife were convicted of murder. And it seems that most of the children were put into care.
Cheers Sue

Scoured SA indexes... ZILCH for Mary!
Maybe she left Ireland & SA to get away from her brother...lol
Anyway, I went back to the VIC indexes & looked up the births to that Mary Magree & John Healey marriage I gave you earlier. Just in case any of the children's names repeat themselves from other members of the family that you might recognize, seeing it's the only marriage that would fit her.
Here's the children to the marriage:
BIRTHS:
HEALEY Michael, WARR 1865 #13082
HEALEY James, BALLARAT 1869 #13072
HEALEY Ann, WARR 1871 #20388
HEALEY John, WARRENHEIP 1873 #13410
HEALEY John Patrick, WARRENHEIP 1877 #19383
HEALEY Catherine, WARR 1878 #19820
HEALEY John, WARR 1881 #20279
DEATHS:
HEALEY John Patrick, 6M BANGAREE 1877 #7087
FYI. Warrenheip is not far from Ballarat.

Hi Kris & Merlin

Hi,
First ever time on a forum/chat. Found your notes on Patrick Magree etc and as have been
working on this tree, wonder if you have ever found out about their daughter Margaret. Did she marry? Five of children were in state care so wonder if she changed her name.
Can you help please?
Febe

Hi Febe
No i haven't found what happened to Margaret sorry.
Could you tell me how you are related to this family please.
Cheers sue

Hi Sue,
I have been doing the Magree family here in South Australia for a friend. She was born 1887 Redhill, to Frederick John Buckle and Bridget Magree. Bridget born 11.6.1862 to Patrick and Elizabeth Magree.
Have filled in a lot of the Magree info - haven't got to look at the State Records yet re their boarding out of the kids.
Have Arthur marrying a Margaret Smith in Wallaroo in 1901 then they disappear.
Margaret was said to have married a James Morgan ( hints that he was brother of Alfred below ) but cannot find any marriage, any state in Aust.
Catherine married an Alfred Morgan in Broken Hill then moved to WA - where Mgt had child and died there.
Hope this is not too long a note. Not sure of protocol.
May I ask where you belong with this family? Are you in Aust? I can look up things at Gen Soc if needed.

I have a Mary Magree in my tree - she married John Wight in Victoria in 1864. To confuse things she used the name Rowler then reverted to Magree ( in various spellings) on their childrens birth certificates. She had 7 kids in the whim holes area ( gold fields) in victoria and died in Echuca in 1899
-
Hi. I’m trying to trace John Wight’s family. I have that he was born in Scotland and died in Echuca in 1901. His sister is my great grandmother.
