Hi,
I'm trying to find an inquest report for my 3x gt grandfather. He died in 1926. Can someone give me some clues as to where to look and any info about local papers from 1926. Thanks.
Tempsford.

Back in the 1950s I think the local newspaper was called the Haverhill Weekly News, but it was part of the group that printed the Cambridge Evening News. I have no reason to think that this newspaper was not operating in the 1920s. It could have been independent then, but try contacting the CEN.

Thanks for the info, I'll give them a try. :)

You could try the Haverhill web site on their history and genealogy pages

or

Hi,
Thanks for the info. I think my best bet will be the SRO.

Haverhill information will be at the Bury St Edmunds branch :D
I have posted elsewhere on here that the Suffolk Record Office have funding for a year to have several newspapers on line (such as those at the Gale Libraries).
Also the website for the Foxearth Local History Group has many newspaper extracts http://www.foxearth.org.uk/
Whilst being just over the border into Essex, they cover many of the local Suffolk Newspapers.

Hi Pat,
Thanks for the further info. I have looked on the Foxearth site but my 3x gt grandfather was not mentioned but the Suffolk newspapers online sound interesting.
