Graham, thank you so much for the link.  :)
While checking it out I noticed they have a link for Liverpool's Fallen Heroes (1914-1919) There is a list of obituaries, photos, medals etc from Liverpool newspapers.
I have made an enquiry about my grandfather, he died in France 1916 and was on their list.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that they have a photograph, as I have none and would dearly love to see what he looked like. ;)
Cheers
Jean

Hi Jean

Its a pleasure!  :)

Im glad I found the website as I think I might well find ancestors on it when I have a good browse through it - and when it gets updated too.

I hope you get info on your Grandfather. If he died during the War its worth checking the local newspapers in case a photo was published of him under the "Roll of Honour". Our local newspapers here in Plymouth did that all through WW1.

Best wishes, Graham

Thanks Graham,
I hope you find some useful information too. I will let you know if they have a photo of my Grandfather, I will be chuffed if they do.
Good luck with your research.
Jean :)

I am looking for a child's burial in 1940, the parents were Italians and lived on Scotland road at the time. Any idea where the child might be buried or where the records are? The child was Roman catholic of coarse.

Have you tried the obituaries in the local newspapers they could have the answer... the three newspapers at that time being the Daily Post, Liverpool Echo and Evening Express...of course you probably have thought of this already.
I had to trawl through the microfiche for a few deaths around that time, slow but brings results. ::)
Happy hunting.
Jean

Graham

Does anyone know if this page is still maintained? I found several broken links, and 2 of the email addresses I've tried under Contact Us bounced back saying they weren't valid.

There are lots of the registers now on Ancestry so I think it is not maintained anymore.

LHP was a useful reference before the Liverpool RC collection appeared on Ancestry. The databases can still be useful but they no longer provide a record service so stick to the Ancestry record images rather than trying to get a record from LHP.
