Can a kind soul help me find James FIELD born 1815 in Rye, his wife Mary Ann born c.1820 and daughter Hannah born 1839 on the 1841 census please.
James was an Agr Labourer all through his life.
-
I cant see them, but then I cant see them in 1851 either - have you got the ref for that one?
-
James Field 1851 Census, aged 35, Agr Labourer of Ferry Road, Rye Sussex.
Source Citation: Class: HO107; Piece: 1634; Folio: 373; Page: 22
Thanks ever so for looking!

OK, indexed Neile on Anc*
Looking at image I am not 100% sure it is Field ....
one of the many children is James age 10 bn Playdon, which hints they may be in Playden 10 yrs earlier
-
just as an aside, is it them at RG9 557 49 28 in 1861? If so I see they have a 3 yr old Hannah, so pres the older one died.
Anyway, I'll take another look at 1841 now!
(modified to add , sorry still no success)
-
Yes, thats correct. In the 1851 Hannah Field is aged 11
Nightmare isn't it!!
-
There is a James c.1819 on the 1841 census, with son James 1840
1841 Census, aged 1, Agr Labourers son of Ferry, Rye Sussex.
RG number: HO107 Piece:1109 Book/Folio: 13/19 Page: 1
And although the Head of Household Stephen and Judith Field are my James's Uncle and Aunt, there is no sign of wife mary Ann and the Ann is not her as Stephen and Judith had a daughter Ann 1820
-
Looks like you have found Jmes and little James then.
Iwonder where Mary Ann and Hannah were?
-
Cannot find them anywhere!
I was hoping Ann was Mary Ann, but on the 1851 Census, she aged 35, Unmarried and living with her father Stephen at Ferry, Rye Sussex.
Such a shame that the 1841 doesnt yield more info! Thank you for helping

Thank you very much for taking the trouble.
Its possible that he was in the Army, the younger childrens birth certs all say Agr Lab, but worth keeping in mind. At least I his parents etc to play with!
I did not have the witnesses from Benjamin's marriage to Sarah Weston, nor did I have the last four childrens baptissm, just a round up of ages from the 1841 Census, so I should be able to track them now. Thank you very much.
