Post by: dannibaggaley on Wednesday 27 January 10 14:09 GMT (UK)
Hi

Can anyone help me find the parents of John Missen b. 1796 in Little Wilbraham, Cambridgeshire. If it helps any, he married Ann Taylor in 1815

Many Thanks, Danielle

Hi Danielle

I have John as being born Fulbourn - in 1851 he is age 57 which would tie in with nanny jan's second reply.

I haven't as yet gone further back on this family as my Sarah Matilda Crisp who married Immanuel / Emmanuel died very early in the marriage  :'(

Perhaps I should be looking at it  :-\

Hi

Thanks to Jan for your hard work, I think maybe the 2nd post is more of a tie in with my John, I shall double check the dates of birth I have
Rosie, I am very interested in your post. I have 3 marriages of emmanuel (or however you spell it) but not a Sarah Matilda Crisp. I have his first wife, Matilda Wallis married in 1860 and she dies a year later, his second wife ( I think it may be this one) Sarah Fuller m. 1862 and she also dies a year later and then he marries Rebecca Webb in 1865, have 3 children and sail off to Australia and have another child.
I think I may review this also

Thanks for your help, Danielle  :D

Hi Rosie,

No probs, was starting to wonder how many more variations of Emmanuel Missen there was before I found all his marriages!!  ;D

If you do come up with anything regarding John Missen if you decide to look into it as I havent got any further than him, I'd love to hear from you

Have just looked at the igi and the baptism for John is as Nanny jan says but father is Robert not Richard (I am glad it's not just me this afternoon  ;D )

There is a marriage for Robert also on the igi to Alice Osborne at Fulbourn 06 AUG 1792

so that takes you back a bit further  :)

Many thanks for all your hard work. For some reason Robert Missen and Alice Osbourne ring a bell but they aren't added on my tree or in any of my notes that I can find  ???

Much appreciated, Danielle

Hi Danielle,

I also belong to the family tree that goes back to John Missen (1793) who was married to Ann Taylor (1799)  - John's parent's were Robert Missen and Alice Osborne.

I was wondering which branch you come from?

My branch goes to Robert Missen (1827) and Emma Godfrey, then William Missen (1859) and Julia Chappel, then John Missen (1893) and Jeanie Moore. (I have a picture of the latter couple on my wall!)

Best wishes,
Helen
