Hi All
I am wondering can anyone tell me does the Royal Infirmary Chester still exist? Or has the name changed? Also i have a name of a residence but i cannot completely read the writing, i am reading it as Dypeuch Road Blaeon Chester?
I have a feeling my spelling may be slightly wrong? Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Many thanks

The infirmary site is now flats I think, new housing anyway.
The address may be Dyserth Road, Blacon, Chester

Hello Lawgirl,
The Chester Royal Infirmary is no longer in existence as a hospital. Some of the older buildings that comprised the Infirmary were listed, they go back to the 18th century, they couldn't demolish these and they have been converted into houses and flats.
I think the hospital there ceased as such in the 1980s. It was transferred to the Countess of Chester Hospital in the Bache, near Upton.
I agree with silvery that the road would be Dyserth Road, Blacon. I believe it is still there.

Unless it's a brand new road, it's not in my AZ. Dyserth is definitely Blacon, and it's just off Blacon Point Rd.

It is in the Ordnance Survey Street Atlas of Cheshire,1998, off Blacon Point Road. Checking with Streetmap it appears to be a misprint >:(

agree it is dyserth road Blacon. The infirmary was knocked down several years ago and housing built on the site. it was still there in the 1970's I think
