Hi,
Not sure if it is Brew as I cannot make out on Death Cert. Could be Brew ,Brown or Brand. Her Father was George BC 1770 and mother Mary Ann Evans BC1770 (Limerick) That is all I can find. Seems funny that they both had children named Dorcas. Please give me more info if you have it.

Hi
Does the Death Cert. give an occupation?
Also interesting that father is named George.
What country is the Death Cert that you refer to from?

Hello Tony,
Thanks for your reply. Mary Ann Innes(Brew?) died in Polmont Parish of Falkirk Stirlingshire Scotland. She died in 1893 and was 100 years old. On the Certificate her father is listed as George Brew Occ Linen Weaver. Mother Mary Ann Brew nee Evans. I cannot find marriages for her or her parents. Hope this is clear to you.

Hi M
Had a troll through Ancestry and found several submissions about this family group.
Could not find anything on Janet Innes though. Did you find anything? I suspect she is the same person as Francis (Frances, Fanny).
The surname Brew appears as Brown, Brand, etc.
Had a few spare credits on Scotlands People.
In the 1871 census, found John & Mary Ann Innes at Falkirk. Gives Mary Ann born Limerick, Ireland. Living next door is Mary Ann Russell (Innes) - looks as if he husband has died as she is described as a widow.
On 1893 Death Certificate for Mary Ann Innes, her parents surnames are defininately "Brew".
On 1874 Death Certificate for John Innes, it states "married to Mary Ann Brew".
I'm beginning to think that George Brew, Linen Weaver could be my ancestor. :)

Hi Tony.
Thanks for your reply. I have all the information which you recorded. I cannot find the Irish births or marriages in Limerick. However I,ll keep trying. Janet is definately not Francis although I have not found any details of her yet but have the families for Francis and Dorcas. Mary Ann Russell(Innes) was my G G grandmother. Hope to hear from you if you find anything else. :)

Hi M
So far we have as parents of Mary Ann Brew, born Limerick ~1793:
Father George Brew / mother Mary Ann Evans.
I am trying to link to :
Matthew Brew, born Limerick 1802, father George Brew.
Have been checking a Francis Brew (with army records), born Limerick 31 October 1781.
He named his third child George Evans Brew.
?George Brew / Mary Ann Evans?
Maybe the family is :
Father George Brew / mother Mary Ann Evans.
Francis Brew, born Limerick 1781.
Mary Ann Brew, born Limerick 1793.
Matthew Brew, born Limerick 1802.
A bit of a long bow at present, but who knows what might turn up.
Regards
Tony
