Title: Penuel Chapel Registers in Llanwrthwl
Post by: leo on Wednesday 03 February 10 20:39 GMT (UK)
I'd be extremely grateful if somebody who has access to these could look for a marriage of Joseph Evans a farmer from Lluestnewydd about 1874 please.

If there is one can they give me all the details which are written down in the register.

Many thanks for any help given.

Hi to both gower and leo,

What date and what kind of event are you looking for regarding Rev Thomas Evans, gower? I may be able to help.

Leo, you did not reply to my posting which asked for your connection to my G G grandfather Joseph Evans of Lluestnewyd. Do you want the information from me or do you already have it?

Kind regards to you both,

Cochiaid

So sorry about that cochiaid I thought.

My father was Morgan, his father William Evans who was born in Lluestnewydd and in turn his grandfather was Joseph.  Joseph had several wives.  I think we are already in touch, but I suspect you have loads more info than me.  I would be pleased to hear from you so please feel free to email me privately.

I am searching for marriages of Rev Thomas Evans. he was the minister of Carmel, Nantmel & Penuel, Llanwrthwl. He apparently was married 3 times, his last wife was Charlotte.
I have contacted Powys archives who advise that they hold Nantmel marriages. Church records I assume

Nantmel: C 1742-1992, M 1742-1980, B 1742-1992, X 1823-1939

Hi Gower,

You have not stated the years in which you have an interest. I have access to Baptism records only for Penuel which name the father and mother and which have baptisms from 1835 to 1837 for EVANS.

Any good for you?

Hi... between 1835 & 1837 the only child born to Thomas Evans was Daniel 1836 but I think I found his baptism on www.familysearch.org.
I was really looking for the marriage records from the church at Nantmel ( St Cynllo?)

thanks anyway

Does anyone have any information on Sarah Samuel?  At one point she was the oldest member of the Penuel Chapel.  She died on 21 MAY 1985
