Yes it was King Street. The family lived there from about 1875
James and Elizabeth Ann Bennett.Their 4 Daughters
Kate,Mary,Alice and Helen and their youngest Alfred Walter
Bennett.James Bennett was a Tailor.
Alfred W. Bennett also a Tailor married Blanche Piercey from Pinkneys Green in Maidenhead about 1895.He worked for James Moores Outfitters in the High Street and eventually
purchased the business.

Just joined rootschat and stumbled on this so don't know if your still there. But Moores was at the bottom of the High Street next to the Bear Hotel it was a mens shop but also it was the only shop in the town at the time that supplied all the local school uniforms. The building is still there to this day, Although unoccupied at the moment. It stood empty for some time and the Maidenhead Heritage Group were hoping to occupy it but that fell through due to lack of funds.

Thanks Rod
I live in Canada but next time I visit Maidenhead I`ll know where the old shop was located.
The family lived at 3 St Ives Rd ,Maidenhead, and I remember a Family reunion there in 1961.
Alfred Walter Bennett. The middle name Walter was for his Grandfather Walter Hancock 1799-1852
who was a steam carriage Pioneer inventor in West Ham, Stratford ,London.

Hi,
I wonder if Blanche Piercey was a member of the family who had the Wagon and Horses at Pinkneys Green?  Not sure of dates but there was quite a family of Pierceys who were publicans in and around Maidenhead.

Hello - I'd like to pick this chat up again please.  My maiden name was Piercey and my grandparents had the Queens Arms in Queen Street, Maidenhead (Sidney and Mary Piercey).  Uncle Gilbert had the Wagon & Horses at Pinkneys Green, Maidenhead - my father Kenneth Piercey had the Portland Arms in West Street, Maidenhead and my uncle Robert Piercey had the Wagon & Horses in Cookham Dean.  I'm having a bit of a job trying to do the Piercey family tree.  Any details would be great.
Many thanks.

@maidenhead bennett - my great-grandfather was Alfred Bennett, and my grandfather was Stan! I think that makes us second cousins.

I used to visit the shop in the early 70's. By then it was run by Mr Crocker.

The photo is of Alfred, Stan, John (my father), and me - taken in 1963.
