Hi,
Looking for the burials of this couple.
CALLOW Robert George died 9 Oct 1902 at Launceston.
CALLOW Emily died 1910 at Launceston.

Thanks accam,
That could be them on the Valuation Rolls they lived at 90 Wellington Rd, Launceston.
Just looking for their burials for my cousin as it's his family but we can't seem to find them, thought someone else here might have more knowledge of any other Launceston cemeteries that they could be hiding at ::)

not an expert by any means ......
but..... just trying to help
carr villa opened 1905 and it seems Launceston's old cemeteries have long since gone.
If you have no luck maybe I could do a newspaper look up for you as I do live in Launceston.

Emily Callow was buried at the Charles St cemetery in Launceston - from funeral notice in Examiner 13 March 1910. I would think Robert was also buried there. I am sure this cemetery no longer exists.

Thankyou wivenhoe,
I'd say she would be buried with Robert as he died first.
I believe the Charles Street General Cemetery, Launceston was redeveloped into the Ockerby Gardens in about 1945.

Hi wivenhoe,
Is there anywhere I can get the information from the funeral notice you quoted that was in the Examiner 13 March 1910?

Hi Kala,
Yes you should be able to access the Examiner Newspaper on microfilm from any major Library. If you have trouble just let me know and I will check it next time I go to the Library here in Tassie.

Hi,
Am interested in Robert Callow as he was a witness on my GG Grandfather's wedding certificate. Hope he was related to Sarah Kemp, the bride ( Mother Julia/Judith Callow, married Henry Kemp) who was sent to Tasmania in 1850 and gave birth to a son in Adelaide waters.
Any information on the Callow family if they are related would be wonderful
Thanks :)
