Post by: sam wadge on Sunday 20 March 05 10:29 GMT (UK)
Are there any WADGE surname researcher's out there. I'm interested in any from Lancashire and Cornwall (especially Lewannick and surrounding areas).

Regards
Sam

Sam,

I have WADGE family connections in Linkinhorne, Cornwall;

WADGE William Herring b.abt.1809 married to WARNE Mary Ann;

WADGE offsring from this couple include;

Thomas, Anstiss, William, Jane Warne, Christiana Ann, John, Austin, Richard, Mary Ann, Elizabeth and James born between 1838 and 1855 all in Linkinhorne.

William Herring WADGE b.abt 1809 is the eldest child of Thomas WADGE b.abt.1781 Cornwall and Anstiss HERRING b.abt 1791 St Ive*, Cornwall.

(Note*: St Ive, a little parish close to Linkinhorne - not St Ives)

WADGE Offspring from this couple include;

William Herring, Thomas, Betsey, Anstice, Jane, Margaret, Richard, James Herring, John and John Herring born between 1809 and 1831 in Caradon , Woodgate, Rilla Mill of the Linkinhorne, Cornwall area.

Some of these WADGE offsrping had families whose births, marriages and deaths are recorded in Liskeard and Lezant, then later over to Durham.

Related families by marriage;

HERRING, MUMFORD, WARNE, MITCHELL, FINNEYMORE, STEVENSON, MUTTON, KELLY, DYER.

Any links, let me know.

Perhaps - it would be interesting to find both WADGE family sets are found in Cornwall and Lancashire - and not find some connection.

If you let me know the dates, places, names of your main family thread I can investigate further.
