Title: Wheelhouse - any and all
Post by: chrisj1961 on Sunday 07 March 10 02:55 GMT (UK)
I've recently started my ONS following my maiden name of WHEELHOUSE

Certainly in my branches of the Wheelhouse family tree I have at least one rogue, I wonder if anybody else has any Wheelhouses, famous or notorious !

My study at the moment is based on the UK Wheelhouses, but then I hope to go further to Australia, US and Canada

If anyone has any info of the Wheelhouses, any Info or connections with the Wheelhouse name, Please get in touch :)

They are indeed, my particular line is from Leeds, from which Hunslet is a suburb.  Could you give me a few details, or even if you want to investigate further into these Wheelhouses I could do a little digging for you.

What I am trying to do is gather up information of all Wheelhouses in a one name study.  My initial aim is to find out where they originated from, my particular branch came from Derbyshire, but a lot of other Wheelhouses came from Yorkshire.  I would love to be able to marry up the whole line to see where they did originate from :)

Hi, my great great great grandfather was George Wheelhouse, born c.1811-1814 in West End, Fewston, just a bit to the west of Harrogate.  His son William Harrison Wheelhouse (born c1833, Knaresborough) is my great great grandfather, but he had another son Joseph Wheelhouse (born c1835, Spofforth) who moved over to Hunslet & had family there.  Sounds like we might be distantly related? :)
