Hi, I'm looking for information on a John Charles Sewell born in about 1919 in Victoria Aust. He once lived in Nth Essendon.
I have got the cencus records for him in years 1937, 1942 and 1949.
Wanting to know who he married and who was his parents. The only information I have is that he could have married a Glaydys Amy Weedon or Weeden.
I have no information on her either.
Any information on both of them would be greatly appreciated.

The John Charles SEWELL born in 1914 at Essendon to Sydney Geo SEWELL and Flor Amelia PHILBIN looks likely to be the one who married Gladys Amy WEEDON in 1934 and is listed in the Electoral Rolls.

Don't be afraid to try Armidale NSW. There are a stack of Sewells up here and they date back to colonial days. I can send you a reference in the pioneer's index book, i am pretty sure i saw a reference there recently.

Sydney George, fitter, and Ada Edith Constance at Pascoe Vale Rd Glenroy
1949 motor driver, with Betty at 21 Salisbury Ave North Essendon.

So posssibly re-married by 1949.
1954 Betty is still at Salisbury Ave, Sydney and Ada at Pascoe Vale Rd; nothing for John

WW1 Service Record for Arthur WEEDON who enlisted in 1917 with NOK Wife May - did he change his name from SCHROEDER to WEEDON because of the war. Record states he is married with several children.
Springvale Botanical Cemetery - May is buried and Arthur was cremated and his ashes scattered.

One entry for Gladys Amy and George Sidney, Charles J' father. You will have to purchase John Charles' death certificate to find his place of burial.

Savannah births are not available after 1910 online but a number of rootschatters have resources to 1920.
As I mentioned previously, John Charles SEWELL's death certificate would name children of both marriages ie if the informant had the knowledge.
Were you aware of John's first marriage?

No-one actually knows Gladys's birth date, Because her only daughter was 3 when she passed away. Her full name was Gladys Amy Weeden, and I know both children but only one of there last names theres:

Savannah we found her birth under the name of SCHROEDER...and it is all on the thread but I will copy it here. I would suggest that Gladys's father changed his name because of the anti German feelings in Aus during WW1.
Gladys's death registration and she is buried next to John Charles' father at Keilor cemetery.

Gladys's marriage certificate would have the full name of her mother ie her surname which would help you prove she was the daughter of Lillian May NILLSON/NELSON/NILLSEN
