Can someone shed some light as to where Bonhill is/was please??

Hi Delyth

I think you will find it was in the civil parish of Martinhoe. Following the census sheet for 1881 it was Martinhoe, then Woodybay, next is Slattenslade, after that its Bonhill

That's brilliant and does make sense - that part of the family were from Martinhoe! I'm heading down to Devon next week so want to see as many places of relevance as i can!

Hi Delyth,

I've been researching my family and its seems we have a common ancestor - the Brooks. My grandfather lives in Neath and used to run the cobblers until he retired.

I've traced the Brooks back to Devon - so we may be related?
