I believe that we are related.  My dad's cousins are Huttons from Pollerton Road.  I had managed to do our family tree back to the 1600 but am missing a gap of about 100 years.  Unfortunately at the moment my tree has somehow got corrupted on my computer and I'm hoping that it can be restored.  I am trying to redo it also from memory and notes so if I can be of any help, I will.  It just might take me time

I'm hoping that I can recover the information on my computer but in the meantime I have my Dad putting it together again for me and I can fill in the blanks that I cant remember myself.  Sorry my mistake in 1st reply.  I'm back in the 1700's and missing that 100 year.  All the records for the area were destroyed in a fire seemingly so I'm hoping that someone has them in their family

Hi Stapleton.  I have managed to get back most of my family tree and I think I am at the same stage as you.  Your Grgrandfather Thomas had a brother John and that is my family line.  I also have only back to Richard but am missing dates.

Do you have the names of the other 8 children born to Edward and Bridget?  I have a lot of other names but not sure who goes with whom.

I do have Edward having a brother Frank and possibly 2 sisters Julia and Ellen.  Not sure how accurate these are.  I have them from the 1901 Census but just need to link everyone together.

Before Richard I am missing gaps but do have names of Thomas again in late 1600's.  I believe that is also our line.  It appears that Thomas married twice and that is where the confusion lies.  Part of that family moved to Pennyslyvia and I have some contact to families there but again they are missing that gap.

I was hoping that someone is another part of the family might have the missing links.  If you want to send me your email address, I can send you the information that I havent been able to link to mine and maybe you or your family might recognise someone.

Hi Helen.  I think we were in touch before, I vaguely remember the name.  Do you have a tree on Family Tree Maker?  It would be great if we could figure out the missing links.  I am originally from Carlow (and also a Hutton) but am currently in California.  We will be returning to Ireland next year.  This programme has blanked your email address so if you can send it as a private message.  Not sure where that option is on here tho.   :)

I am helping a Bill Murray in Ayr,Qld,Australia with his family history.  His grandmother Mary Elizabeth Hutton born in Carlow Carlow in 1866 - died in Rockhampton Qld 1958. She married Joseph Murray in Rockhampton 1888.
Her father was Edward Hutton and mother Bridget Mary Murphy, both born in Carlow.  Bill would love it if there is a connection.  He is an older gentlemen and has come up against many brick walls. As you do in Ireland!!!

I will contact Bill to let him know that some progress is made,  I am new to this Rootschat so bear with me.  Haven't made much ground on his fathers side Joseph Murray born Dundalk, Ireland.  But now on Roots might have some success.  Apparently have to post 3 times before I can contacted you. Is that right??

Thats fine Carol.  I dont have any information on Joseph Murray except his parents.  My line is Hutton.  I'm sure my contact from that family is also related to Bill.

Seemingly you have to post 3 times before you can send me a private message.  That is the only way to send email addresses.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Stapleton, Hi my name is David Michael Hutton son of Joseph Francis Hutton, he was born in Tullyfin near Coothill Co Cavan.
Joseph joined the British army in 1936 and took part in both the Dunkirk and Normandy landings, he stayed on in the army until he had completed his 22 years service. He passed away in 1997 aged 86, and buried in Prestatyn cemetery North Wales.
I visited the family home as a child in 1953, Hilary hired a car and took us to Coothill. At this time the family as you probably know lived in Griffith Avenue Dublin. If memory serves, your father Bill was working as a sound re cordist for the broadcasting service. I used to have a small book of his poems.
I remember Aunt Babs, uncle Tom and both the Eileen's. Was your grandfather a policeman and accomplished accordion player?
My sister * has lived in Killyleagh Co Down for many years, she is married to * Irvine a local fuel merchant.
My father told me that his father was a steward on an estate in Cavan, although on my dads marriage certificate it gave his fathers occupation as a corn thresher.
I visited uncle Tom at his cottage in the grounds of Phoenix park, I believe he was in charge of the grounds.
To find your post on Christmas day is a lovely present, I would love to know more of my Irish ancestry. Kind regards, your cousin Dave

hi nholloway.

I am tracing my husbands family and have gone back as far as his ggparents james hutton [1813] and elizabeth bolger [1815] and on his gmothers side to his ggparents james kennedy [abt 1810-40] and anne timmons , the green, tullow.
and his maternal gparents edward donoghue [1866] and catherine brophy [1861]
think they are related to president j.f.k.
would be interested to know if you are on the same line and would share what i have.

Hi Mary

I dont think we are directly related.  Its very possible that James was a cousin of my lines but I dnt have a James for that time .  My dad maintains that all Huttons were relatd at tht time and I believe it.  I had come across smething showing only 6 Hutton families and they were all related.  I havent been able to access records for that early in 1800 however.  My own gg grandfather was 1839.

I wish you luck in you search and if I can help in future I will do my best

Nuala
