Has anyone found an email from a friend in the junk email folder ? Can someone please suggest a reason for this happening ? Not that it matters greatly as I always check the folder before deleting its contents and use the 'Not junk email' button to transfer it to the In Box folder.

Junk filters are relatively broad and sometimes for a number of reasons normal mail can be filtered away
1) subject heading being misinterpreted
2) no subject heading
3) same email to multiple addresses
are just some of the more common reasons
-
It is sometimes caused by the entire use of capitals in subject headings.

Is this friend the only person using a particular mail provider (such as Hotmail/Googlemail/Yahoo)? If so then your settings may be set to put all mail from that provider into your spam folder. I assume you are not talking about your "dustbin" folder; there are so many names for the folders.

I always put it down to my email provider having a mad moment ;D
Ie no real explanation forthcoming!

My thanks to all for your replies. She is using btinternet.com as are many other of my contacts. The strange thing is that apart from someone who sends me endless jokes etc., (sometimes ten at a time !) which are sent to the junk folder, my friend is the only contact affected in this way.

Maybe her name is suspect to the filter thing ... for e.g. if she has a foreign name like V.Iagra (!) then its obvious why !
I had one that that happened to but for the life of me, I can't remember what her name was ... but I told her, and she used a different name from then on !

I have an unusual surname and I've sometimes had my email address rejected as being invalid. :(
No, it's not Agra! Or Enis. ;)
