Hi,
I have just received a census printout of a John James Horne and it states he was born in Jersey in 1844, could anyone see if there is a record for this name please.
Thanks
Kind Regards

There's nothing on the Jersey Heritage site apart from the will of a John Horne written in 1900. His wife was Margaret Jane.
Does the census return say which parish he was born in?

Hi,
Thanks for getting back. I was hoping there wouldn't be a birth actually, but as the census stated born in Jersey I thought it best to check it out.
Thanks again
Kind regards

The fact that the birth does not show on the Archive site does not mean that he was not born in Jersey - only that he was not baptised in St Helier.
I'm at the Archive tomorrow morning and I'll have a quick run through the parish birth indexes as you have an approximate year of birth - just to be sure.
