Title: Sean Treacy Video
Post by: Alicat84 on Thursday 13 May 10 21:50 BST (UK)
Last year I was looking up some information about Sean Treacy (of the War of Independence) and I came upon a video on youtube, newsreel footage shot moments after Sean was shot on Talbot Street in Dublin. Apparently it's been deleted from youtube :( Link is at the bottom of Wiki Page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Se%C3%A1n_Treacy_(Irish_Republican)

Anyone know of it, or where I could get it?

Thanks,
Ali

I came across this thread while researching the shooting of Sean Treacy

I have all the details of the shooting, what I am interested in is one of the two British agents involved in his shooting. Price was killed, but "Major Carew" survived, and indeed survived Bloody Sunday

Can anyone give me a Christian name, an initial or anything on Carew that would enable me to find more on him.

(PS the reason the video will have been deleted is that it was a fake - nothing to do with the British, it was part of a film, which somehow got identified as newsreel. The film was made, if my memory serves me about 1926)
