Hi Fellows,
I'm searching for a family-tree of a certain De Botte Leo ( Born Sept 1918 Chorlton )
Was killed in action in my native town Kaggevinne ( Belgium) 24/6/1943,
Is there anyone who can help me ? It's a very unusual name ,
Thank you in advance
Luc

His mother's maiden name was Lavery. You could buy his birth cert for £9.25 which would give you his father's name and occupation and mother's name. I couldn't find a De Botte/Lavery marriage from 1890-1918 - it may have taken place abroad. :-\
There are no De Bottes on 1911 census, which is the last available open to the public.

Hi Luc

Grave 2840 RC section L
06/01/1975 Louis Francis De Botte
15/09/1986 Mary Ann De Bott
04/08/2000 Vincent Francis De-Botte
Grave 2146 RC Section I
08/03/1947 Margaret De Botte
13/09/1945 Ethel May Debotte
27/07/1971 Joseph Patrick Debotte
and one in Philips Park Cemetery
10/05/1923 Maud F Debotte RC Section F grave 529
all spellings as found in the record search!
Hope that helps

Freebmd.org.uk (free to search) has births of two De Botte families from 1918 onwards. The maiden name of the mother of the other children was Grimshaw and the De Botte/Grimshaw marriage took place in 1919, also in Chorlton. Chorlton registration district is in the city of Manchester.
Leo J seems to have had siblings M*** E and B**** C, check Freebmd for births as they may still be living.

Hello this is my great uncle.
-
Hi Dori,
This is interesting. I am doing research related to the fallen Airmen in my native village Kaggevinne (near Diest). I want to get as much information and pictures of your granduncle as possible.
Can you help me with that? Do you like a nice anecdote?
I send you a pm. Several years ago I found a postcard from your family here in the cemetery of Kaggevinne. The card was stamped in Manchester. Do you have family living there? I'm really obsessed with this history. I hope you can help me.
Looking forward hearing from you,
Kindest regards,
Luc
