I wonder if a fresh pair of eyes could locate David (William) Summerlin/g (variants).
David was born 1869 Datchworth, born as William David but known as David, parents George and Elizabeth (Father George then married Catherine).
Last sighting on census here - 1891 Piece: 1121; Folio 20; Page 33
Last seen on FindMyPast British Army Service Records. I am sure this is him although his age seems to be out slightly. Says his father is George Summerling of Rickmansworth.
David Summerling, born 1871, Welwyn, Hertford, Hertfordshire
Age at attestation 20 years 2 months
Attestation date 15 February 1891
Even though he attested Feb 1891 he is on the 1891 census as a paper maker.
He had a less than successful 4 year stint in the army according to the above papers and was discharged as incorrigible and worthless in 1896.
Then where did he go? I can't find a marriage, death or him going abroad.
Any help appreciated.

Thats would be great thank you, I will pm you.
George made the papers in 1873 when as a PC he was shot by a lady called Caroline Nash (born 1850 Digswell) whilst he was trying to evict her from squatting in a cottage in Harmer Green. Her mother lived next door. He was not too badly injured but had shot embedded in his back. She was sentenced to 5 years for it. The cottages were owned by a Mrs Darnell and in 1879 Caroline married a Henry John Darnell (Freebmd - I don't have the cert). 1881 census backs this up. I have yet to work out if she married a relation of the lady who owned the cottage.
