Hi im looking for the history of my family of the Whipp family from England they moved to Australia i think around the 1920's. I think my great grand fathers name was Frederick Whipp who had 4 children they moved to north Fremantle where they lived for most of there lives. My grand fathers siblings moved all round Australia they have all died there names are Thomas, Wynn and my grand fathers name is XXX hes in XXX and still alive and Thomas lived in Sydney and Wynn in Melbourne. i cant remember my grand fathers other brothers name but he also lived in Melbourne.

As I also found outr you have to look up people well into your past history.
Your great grandfather moved from England to north frementle in the 1920's, is that correct??
His childrens names were Thomas Wynn and your grandfather plus one other you dont remember the name of, is that right???

That is correct they moved here im thinking around that time but could have been here earlier than that they were here when my grand father was born.

FLORENCE (b. 1900) and FRED (b. 1897)came to Australia in 1924 from port of London.
They arrived at Albany (King George Sound).
Winnifred was with them , born 1921.
I am not able to provide more details on this shipping, but others may.

It is possible one of the births listed here after 1924 is the 'missing' brother.

Sue, I too have been checking UK FreeBMDs and have found what may be the birth of Winifred.
Jun Q 1921 Births have a Winifred WHIPP with mother’s maiden name as WILFORD.
The burial record for Florence gave her middle name as Annie. And there was a Florence Annie WILFORD born Dec Q 1899.
But as for a marriage . . . a Florence WILFORD to Fred WHIPP is not listed.

Yes, that is a bit of a mystery about the marriage of FRED and FLORENCE.
It looks as if we have the names of all 4 children now Winifred, Thomas, Stanley and one we should delete from the board as you say he is still living and is your grandfather ("P") I will alter the information I have given on him
As you tell us that WINIFRED has died , we can mention she married and her surname became McPHERSON.
Do you know much abourt her? You believe she died in MELBOURNE??

Births are online to 1932 for WA. Perhaps it is possible to identify by place of birth. There appear to be more than WHIPP family in WA in this period.

PETER was the man I thought to be the living grandfather!
great grand fathers name was Frederick Whipp who had 4 children they moved to north Fremantle GARTH
We have 4 listed.
THOMAS and WINIFRED have died.
One is the living grandfather ("S")?
One is name unknown ::)
OR. There were more than 4 children!

Hi I'm Shelley, Winifred MacPherson's grandaughter. My father is Malcolm MacPherson. Winifreds brothers were Thomas and Stanley and they had a sister however she died when she was an infant. Winifred lived in Wahgunyah Victoria and had 4 Children, Malcolm, Lynette, Janice (dec) and Stephen.
