Post by: ScottishAncestry on Tuesday 06 July 10 16:21 BST (UK)
To help you find those elusive characters in your family Maxwell Ancestry have been transcribing parish registers which so far have only been available in Edinburgh.

New books available are:

Applegarth (Dumfriesshire) Baptisms, Marriages and Burials 1694-1719
Buccleuch Street (Dumfries) U.P. Church Baptisms 1846-1856
Yetholm (Roxburghshire) Burgher (New Light) Parish Register 1824-1855
Galashiels (Selkirkshire) Parish Register 1666-1718
Galashiels (Selkirkshire) Marriage Register 1845-54 and Relief Church Baptisms 1838-55

Details of these books are on our website.

Anything similar for Aberdeenshire, Banffshire or Morayshire?

I’m afraid that although we research genealogy all over the UK (and indeed the world) our indexing/transcribing is focused on Southern Scotland where we have particular expertise.

I would recommend the Aberdeen Family History Society as they have a vast library and very friendly and helpful members.
