I am looking for any information on Hilda Brabazon b 1898 in Castlebar. She was the daughter of Edward Campbell Brabazon, Surgeon and his wife Ellen nee?. They had 6 children Anne b 1889 d 1965 (who married into the Palmer family but I don't know whether they had children), Catherine b1891, Timothy GM b1894, Ellen b1896 and Pearl b1902. Any information on Hilda or any of her siblings would be so gratefully received.

I dont see a good match for the birth of Hilda on the Irish BMD index (http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=collectionDetails&c=fs%3A1408347), but there is a very good possibility for her younger sister Pearl.
Name: Pearl Ethel Brabazon
Registration District: Castlebar
Event Type: BIRTHS
Registration Quarter and Year: Jul - Sep 1903
volume : 4 / page : 86
A birth cert for Pearl would give you Ellen's maiden surname.
There is a marriage of an Edward Brabazon around the right time, but I'm not sure if the location if Waterford would fit. I also cannot see a cross-match to anyone named Ellen at the moment.
Name: Edward Brabazon (also listed as Edward Brabason)
Registration District: Waterford
Event Type: Marriage
Quarter and Year: Jan - Mar 1887
volume: 4 / page : 587
for details on searching the BMD Index, ordering certs etc - see the topic : Introduction to Irish Records (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442233.0.html)

Hiya. I am a complete novice to using the site. I joined just now because I noticed that you asked about Hilda Brabazon. I have some information about her relations. I'd like to help with your search, but I'd need to ask permission of her relations, before passing information on to you.

Thank you all so much for the information you have kindly given me. Covie, I look forward to any information you are able to give me. I still cannot find any birth or death cert for Hilda although I believe she is buried with her sister Annie Palmer in Castlebar.

Hiya Annie635. I think it's likely that Annie Palmers family will have information about their aunt, Hilda Campbell Brabazon. Annie lived at Cloghane House near Westport with William Palmer who was her husband, and her children William and **. Her husband died while she was pregnant with her youngest child. I dont know the correct name of her youngest, but throughout his lifetime he has been known as ***. Annies son William was killed while fighting for the allies (British air force) during World War Two. ** lives in Waterford. *** Palmer lives in Westport. He has a son and a daughter. I dont know his full address, but if you write to him simply at *** Palmer, Westport. ,the letter will reach him. Alternatively, his number is probably in the telephone directory. If you fail to make contact with *** Palmer, please let me know, and I'll try to put you in contact with him. Covie.
Moderator's Comment: Names of living people aren't allowed to be posted on Rootschat so some details have been removed from this post. If anyone can fill in more recent family details it would be best done by PM (personal message) rather than online.

Hi Annie
Just to clarify for you the Gravestone shot for Hildia was actually in Holy Trinity Cemetery, which is in Westport.
Great that you have more information now.
