Title: Le Feuvre and Hamon Families of Sark/Guernsey
Post by: gemmaallen1977 on Tuesday 13 July 10 20:54 BST (UK)
I am trying to find out as much as possible about my great grandparents: -

Edith May Le Fevure born in Sark in 1898 and died in Guernsey in May 1997;
Walter Hamon born in Sark (1892 I believe) and died in Guernsey early 1960s.

They had several children including Phyllis Lynch nee Hamon, Arthur, Betty, John and Peter.

If anyone has any further information regarding their ancestors or descendants or is related to them please do get in touch, I would be grateful for any further information and in particular any records of their marriage etc.  Thank you.

Hi

Thanks for your post, it's nice to have another person interested in tracing the Le Feuvre's - I am more than happy to share any information/records that I have with you. If you can post some further information we can see if our families are related and hopefully be able to assist each other :) Gemma

Hi. My Grandfather came from Sark his name was Walter Lefeuvre (born 1918) his brothers were called Thomas and Bonnie (not sure if this was a family nick name) and his sister was called Alice. My great-grandfather's name was Ernest Philip and my great-grandmother was called Alice. They lived on the Avenue. Have any of these name's come up in anyone's re-search. Any info would be greatly received.

Hi

Thanks for your post.  I think there were two Walters born around the same time, one being my great-grandfather and the other being your relation.  I will look into my research as soon as I can and will come back to you if I have any info that may help you.  Gemma

Have you used the superb sites called Jerripedia (Jersey) and Donkipedia(Guernsey)
Both sites contain loads of family trees,BMD records, picturesetc etc. They are for ever adding new information and I feel sure you would find something of interest.
I also looked at the roots web mailing list and gradually worked my way through the many years it's been in existence.
Also on Ancestry you might find a fellow researchers letters.

Hi Gemma,
Sorry I'm new to the site and can't seem to access private messages just yet 😕 I just called my mum (Betty's daughter) who was very excited to hear that more of our family was out there somewhere! Are you in the UK?

Oh cool 😊 we're in Australia now, but Betty lived in Guernsey for quite some time when my mum was young. Unfortunately she passed away a few years ago, but it's so nice to know that some of her family is still around!

My mum always kept touch with your nan by phone, my nan has passed away too several years ago. I met your nan a few times as a child, once when we visited Guernsey and a few times when she visited my nan. Hopefully you can read my message soon and we can talk more. Your nan was lovely.

She was definitely a character and sorely missed. The only sibling I really recall meeting was Arthur and I think he might actually still be alive in Guernsey. I remember Nan used to knit a jumper for all of the brothers she had contact with for Christmas every year.

I miss my nan too. I'm sure I've got a couple of photos of your grandparents too. Hopefully you can pick up the message now with my email? I think we are 3rd cousins and now you've found me you've found a lot more cousins too - are you on Facebook?

Grateful for help.  I have a Mrs Elsie Le Feuvre resident at 64 Mount Durant, St Peter Port between 1937-1953.  Hit a brick wall, help please!    Thx
