Good afternoon, Everyone,
Per an 1874 registry, "Deaths in the District of Wick in the County of Caithness," P. 18, No. 54, for "JOHN MACKENZIE," who died April 23 . . .
I'm looking for any information on his birthplace and the final resting places of him and his wife, MARY (née DOULL).
I've checked all the on-line gravestone monuments in the counties of Wick and Ross & Cromarty, from where, according to later censuses, Stornoway is their place of origin.
Today I sent an e-mail to the Northern Archives in Wick, as they might have information not readily available on-line, and am waiting to hear from them.
I would also like to find any information on his father, also called JOHN MACKENZIE, and his wife, ANN (née HARPER).
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Jack Haines
