Hello Susie,
so near...go back to the National Archives site.
Find your way to Documents On Line, where amongst other things, you can search AIR/80  Service records of women who joined the WRAF, 1914-1919
You ought then to be able to download the Lady's service record.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave

I found a certificate of discharge on demobilization but that just said what she was in the WRAF, her number and how long.  Maybe that is it and I won't find out anything more.  I would like to know more and what she did after she left.

Thanks for your reply.

Regards Sue

Hello Sue,
ouch, that is really disappointing, usually there would be an attestation document (giving address and next of kin and physical description) and a record of service listing postings and units served with. {Then we could have offered further info} Once she has returned to civvy street you are down to the slog of family history research, I'm afraid.

Ok Dave, thanks for trying.  Was pretty gutted when I got the '1' page document.  I'm trying to find my grandfathers now but not much luck so far  ???  Thanks Sue
