Title: Llanuwchllyn graveyard
Post by: wilcoxon on Tuesday 31 August 10 14:30 BST (UK)
As you come out of Llanuwchllyn, at the end of Bala lake  heading towards Dolgellau , there is a very small graveyard and a  building on the right hand side.
Does anyone know about it, is it a chapel ?

I`m not looking for anyone, it`s just as it is so very small I wondered about it.

Another slightly different question.
Perhaps  if you are local you may know of another ` burial ground`. carrying further along the road to Dolgellau you come to a Chapel on the RH side, , there is a caravan site close by, I think the area may be called Rhosdyluan ( from map).
Even further on - on the left hand side there are some fields and a farm where they sell eggs. Quite a few years ago, my friend used to always stop here on the way to Barmouth and show her children the `pet graveyard`. It was very close to the road.
I saw it once, dogs, horses and all with small headstones. Passing there now I can`t spot it at all, but the fields don`t seem to have been used much or ploughed over.
The children are grown up now, but still remember the place.

Are pictures of Edwards gravestones available ? Do you know if they were relatives of Owen Morgan Edwards or his son Ifan ? How old is this cemetery ?

I would sure appreciate it if you could check your info on the Llanuwchllyn burials for Richard/Griffith, Jane.

Thanks,

Is this Glanaber MC chapel ????
If not has anyone any idea if Glanaber is the same as Capel y Pandy where there is also a cemetery.

Hi Trot30,

My great-grandmother Catherine Evans was buried at Llanuwchllyn Parish Cemetery around the 22nd February 1909. Would one of the 30 gravestone photos you have happen to be hers ?

Best regards, Gordon.
