Hi,
Can anyone locate the 1871 household details for George LYE b abt 1865 Ellingstring, Yorkshire, brother James b abt 1864 and sister Isabella abt 1867.
1861, 51 & 41 would be nice too (very greedy of me!!}.
Also there are two candidates for Georges mother Dorothy King or Dorothy Highmoor, any theories would be interesting.
Many Thanks
Alan

There is a definitely a "do" after Mary Elizabeth King to show she was a Lye but as they married in 1863 and there is a 5 year gap between her and the next child i suggest that she is Dorothy child either out of wedlock or from a previous relatrionship
Mary Elizabeth King born Dec q 1859 - Leyburn reg district - 9d 451

I'm amazed to find people talking about this, have just started researching my family and ended up here, my names is James Lye, going backwards, me, then James William Lye then George Lye then James William, then James William then George (the one in question) then George born around 1786ish, it's there my trail goes cold.
I'm confused as to the James William born to George and Dorothy, was he born Lye or born King? if out of wedlock I have 0 chance of finding out who the father was I imagine.
I was wondering, what is your interest in this line of family?

I have screen shots of the census' from 41, 61, 81 as well as various details of his family, all the way up to me and my lot, is a strange thing to see all the way back there!
