Hi
I have met a brick wall, I am trying to find details of the following families from the Birse / Strachan area of Aberdeenshire.
Young – c1725 to 1841
Thompson - c 1725 to 1793
Sim – 1800 to 1835 Margaret Sim married Charles Young in this year
Alexander - 1790 onwards, in particular a Christian Alexander’s details I know she married Charles Young on the 1st July 1824.
I am due to visit the area in 2 weeks time any help would be appreciated.

Hello Stu
On the Christian Alexander side - a search of the IGI at www.familysearch.org. brings up the following births for Christian and her husband Alexander Young.
1. WILLIAM YOUNG - Ch: 30 SEP 1822 Birse, Aberdeen, Scotland
2. GEORGE YOUNG - Ch: 18 SEP 1824 Birse, Aberdeen, Scotland
3. JAMES YOUNG - Ch: 01 MAY 1828 Birse, Aberdeen, Scotland
4. CHARLES YOUNG Chr: 16 APR 1826 Birse, Aberdeen, Scotland
5. ALEXANDER YOUNG - Ch: 13 FEB 1830 Birse, Aberdeen, Scotland
Can't find Christians death on either the OPRs or after 1855. Can't see them as a family in the 1841 census - or maybe I haven't tried hard enough. Also can see them on http://www.abdnet.co.uk/mi-index/

Hi Steve
Thanks for your input I have now traced the 1841 Census all residing at Birsemore. The only problem I have now is that your DOB's differ from the information I have gleaned - William and George were twins b1826.
Thanks to your assistance I now believe Charles and Christian are sharing plot 125 in the Birse Churchyard. Her name is recorded as Christina.
