Title: 1851 census - Canada Est
Post by: lorrainec on Friday 17 September 10 16:22 BST (UK)
Can someone tell me where this page is from?  It might help me locate Elizabeth H. Clewes and her sons!

What I mean is where is the town/city that this particular page of the census is taken.  My assumption is Quebec (Canada Est) but where in Quebec?

As per a previous post on another thread, Jacquie in Canada provided the link and found them in Quebec City. She stated that she searched each district of Quebec City for them using information found at Ancestry.

I double checked the link and it is for Quebec city.
District 38
Sub District 558, Quebec City
page 227
I went to FamilySearch.org  or
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=allCollections;r=o

The names are tanscribed as follows
Elizabeth Chas, age 40 on line 1
James Cleves, age 9 on line 2
William Chares, age 7 on line 3

When asking for info, please post that there are previous threads on the same topics. It is much easier for us to help if we have all the information that has been provided as in this case.
