I am trying to trace Emma Williams in 1851 and 1861. She didn't have her first child until 1864 so I presume she was single in 1861. If not, she was married to a Thomas Williams. Her maiden name was Price George yet I cannot find any trace of this as a surname even. It was on one of her childrens birth certificates - "formally known as Price George.
Please can you look up Emma Price George or Emma Price or Emma George in Llananno in Knighton. She was born between 1841 and 1845.
Any help would be appreciated.

In 1861 there is a Emma Price, house servant of around the right age in the parish of Llanbadarn.

Astley, did you manage to find Emma Price George? I have some Price Georges in my tree (but not an Emma - yet!) they came from Llanbadarnfynydd, just up the road from Llananno. I am sure there must be a connection, the name came from the marriage (c1842) of John George to Naomi Price (Pryce). I would be interested to hear what you have found.

Hi,
John George and Naomi Pryce were my 3 x great grandparents who had a son and grandson named William Pryce George. Interested to know your connection.

Hi Louisa
John and Naomi George's next child was Sarah. She married David Jandrell and went to live at Black Hill nr Newtown, their 6th child was Martha Elizabeth who was my grandmother, on my fathers side.
This is Martha (centre) with two of her sisters.

Hi,
I,m new to this and suspect by your reply that there was a photo but I couldn't see one. My 2 x great grandfather was an older brother to Sarah, John who also lived at Black Hill. He died there. There are still Jandrells in the Mochdre area which is near Dolfor.

Sorry, I tried to download a picture of Martha and two sisters from my tree but it didn't work (I've never fathomed how to post attachments on this site).
A few years ago I went looking for the Jandrells and found a large row graves in the church yard at Dolfor and some at Mochdre. Martha's sister moved up to North Wales to work as a cook and then got married, so Martha took her place and then she went and married her sisters brother! that is how the family came to start in Wales.
