Title: O'Neill - Tomatee, Co. Wexford, Ireland
Post by: caroline_wex on Saturday 02 October 10 17:09 BST (UK)
Hi!

I'm researching my family tree and the O'Neills from Tomatee near Ballindaggin/Kiltealy in Co. Wexford. I have quite a bit already but hopefully someone out there will have more bits of the puzzle!

Thomas O'Neill and Bridget Hogan married in 1861 and went on to have at least a dozen children:

Denis (born about 1861, died 1938)
Catherine (born about 1864)
Nicholas (born 12/12/1867, died in USA on 24/02/1946)
Ellen (born 11/08/1869, died 18/11/1910)
Mary (born 11/08/1869, died 16/03/1945)
Bridget (born 19/10/1870)
Timothy (born 05/02/1872)
Anastastia (born 01/07/1873, died 05/06/1917)
Edward (born 12/02/1875)
Mary Ann (born 02/04/1877, died 16/03/1945)
Thomas (born 21/12/1879, died 06/06/1928)
Patrick (born 15/03/1881)

Would love to hear from others who might have any info on this family or connecting ones. I am descended from Thomas Jnr and have a photo of his wedding day to add to your tree as well as certs and other info!

Hopefully, speak soon!

Hello Caroline,
My name is Rich Hogan and Bridget Hogan was my 2nd great aunt. Sorry this took 10 year but I just recently came across information revealing that my GG grandfather Edward D. Hogan and his wife Catherine Gahan were from this area of County Wexford and that their first 6 children were either born in Tomatee or Newtownbarry (Bunclody).  They all eventually emigrated to Quebec, Canada,  except for Bridget for some reason.  Bridget's brother, Dennis J. Hogan then left Canada eventually settling in St. Louis, Missouri USA, which is where I am located.
I would be extremely interested in and very appreciative for any information you may have regarding the Hogan's including of course any photo's you may have. Sorry it only took me 10 years to contact you.  Hope to hear from you.
Rich

Hello Rich!
Lovely to hear from you.
Can you send me a private message with your email address so I can get in touch? I have an ancestry family tree with info on that I can invite you to and can also share info by email if you'd like. Can't wait to hear more about the Hogans who went overseas!
All the best,
Caroline

Hello,
My name is Bryan O‘Neill and my father Thomas O'Neill was born in Tomatee. He moved to Germany, but we still regularly visit our family in Tomatee. I would be very interested in all the information you gathered so far, as I know very little of my family history. Of course if you have any questions,  I'm happy to answer.
I hope you will reach out to me soon!
Kind regards,
Bryan
