Hi,
I'm trying to find the date of birth for Samuel Atkinson of Lisnalong. I believe he was born around 1871 and died in 1920. I also believe he was the sub postmaster for Lisnalong. I believe he was buried in Ballybay Church of Ireland graveyard. Can anyone help please?
I've looked on family search and found a possible link to his parents but need the DOB confirmed.

I.G.I. have some, not all, Irish births 1864-c1882- www.familysearch.org
Also try Irish Births on LDS Pilot site which cover 1864-1881-

This is the only Samuel Atkinson of the correct age in the 1901 census. Not sure if you already have that info.

Samuel was born 26 November 1869 in Claraghy and died 8 March 1923. He was the sub postmaster in Lisnalong. His parents were Matthew Atkinson and Mary Black. I have information on this family if you are still searching.

Hello Legend,
Sorry for the delay but any information on this family would be of great interest. Samuel was my maternal great grandfather. Many thanks in advance.

There must be a few very shy people on here- any mention of being related is met with silence, obviously you don't want any more info on Samuel.

It may be that the 3 haven't been notified of your more recent posts (if they've turned off notifications for this topic or their registered email address hasn't been updated). Legend hasn't been online since September 2018 & Mrgreer and WantToKnow haven't been online since February 2016. You could try sending each of them a PM (Personal Message) to see if any respond.
-
Just because someone replies it doesn't mean they are related!
Wonder why it was reported in the Anaconda Standard Newspaper though! ;D

Hi,
I am looking for any and all information re the Atkinsons in Lisnalong / Cootehill. Ive gone back to Matthew Atkinson and Mary Black, but I can't seem to get any further. I'm a direct descendant (fathers side) from Samuel Atkinson and have never lived in Ireland and I'm trying to find out as much as I can.
Thanks for any information you can provide.
-
Hi Everyone,
For anyone related to Samuel Atkinson, I am planning to go over to Ireland to commemorate 100 years since his death (this March).
If any of you are interested in sharing any info, or meeting up with some more Atkinsons who are coming with me, please drop me a message and I will send through the details.
