Title: Graveyards in Tivannagh?
Post by: PatB71 on Friday 05 November 10 14:27 GMT (UK)
I have relations who lived in Ardmore in Tivannagh at the start of the 1900`s and was just wondering is there a graveyard in Ardmore or would they have been buried in Boyle. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the following links?

http://www.killaraghtgraveyard.com/Killaraght_Old_Graveyard_Burials.html

A lot of County Boyle burials took place in this graveyard. The burial site is in County Sligo close to the County Roscommon border. Listed on readily available Ordnance Survey Discovery Series map 33, Grid Reference 769984.

Suggest you check your local library for the “Resource County Roscommon 2009 CD” It contains 111 maps and 3275 pages of data for County Roscommon. Copy held by the Famine Museum, Strokestown, County Roscommon.

Sorry about the typo - I wrote Boyle County instead of Boyle Parish.

What are the names you are looking for?

I`m researching the Brennan and Dolan families who lived in Ardmore..I can see both families living there in the 1901/1911 census...but I don`t have have any dates of deaths.I was thinking of taking a spin up there to have a look around the graveyards to see what I could find out.
