I am trying to find any information of my great grandmother Lizzie Fitzsimmons who we have as mother to my grandad Harry Gilbert.
We think there is a chance that Lizzie died in 1916 in Wexford during child birth with daughter Irene ,she would have been about 35 .Our great grandad was Harry Gilbert ,and we are starting to think that Lizzie and Harry snr were not married! because there is just nothing in England or Ireland of their marriage .
If we can find a link here we can move on and solve the mystery!

I Assume you have your GF's BC & he was born before 1916 - where exactly was he born?
Do you have Irene's BC? If so where exactly was she born?
There is no Harry Gilbert in the 1911 Wexford census and only one Lizzie Fitsimmons (who would have been aged 23 in 1916). What is your source for the Wexford connection?

The civil registration index is online (free) and shows a birth for an Irene Frances Gilbert in Apr./June 1916 Dublin South registration district.
