Hello
Looking for any connections to Benjamin Davis and Hannah Jarman (various spellings) married 1811.
Benjamin died in Sussex England and Hannah remarried a Cuckney and went
to Australia in 1938 and settled in the Raymon Terrace area NSW

Hello pkj47
That is an old post - 2010 - but years later it yeilded something.
So, you are a descendant of Hannah’s brother William - l have very little on her siblings/parents.
I descend from Hannah’s daughter Jane Davis who married 3x’s and had 10 children.
Hannah - Jane Davis - Henry Jones/Barnes - Alfred Barnes - ....
Hannah is my 4 x grt grandmother.
Would like to hear from you when you have time ?
Merry Christmas

Happy Christmas to you. What luck to receive a reply from an old post. I will put together some other bits that may be of interest and decide where to go from there. We are in NSW Australia and live a couple of hours from Raymond Terrace where Hannah lived.

Hi Pam
Wow thanks for the quick reply !
Just off the top of my head there was a sister too.
Rachel who married a George Burgess and went out to Australia with Hannah & James Cuckney.
Just google their names and you will come up with 3/4 websites.
Cheers

William and Sarah Jarman (CREED) maybe had as many as 13 children. I knew Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Jane Amelia and Henry (our ancestor) all came to Australia, although not together. I now know Hannah came also. I do not know much about William - married Jane Tozer, Francis, John, Horace, Sarah Ann, Benedicta, Clara and Richard. I don't have a Rachel, will follow up.
Henry and wife Mary, sister Mary Ann and Jane with husband James Gorham and also daughter Maria came to Australia on 'Westminster' in 1838.
Followed up another 10 year old lead re Davis family and received a reply - wow. I am sorting that info will send later.
Happy New Year to you also. Pam

Hello Pam
Nice to hear from you.
Been looking at William’s family over the weekend - it is a very big family indeed.
But how do you know that your William is the brother to my Hannah.
I have Hannah, Rachel, and (another) Ann the daughters of John Jarman and Elizabeth Sinden on looking through my notes.
Cheers

From the information I have I didn't think your Hannah and my Hannah were the same person. I thought they may be cousins?? the link may be in the previous generation. I don't have any documentation for Hannah only that she was christened in Ewhurst Green 7 March 1809 and her older sister Elizabeth (BARWICK)(abt 1807) went to Tasmania and her younger sisters Mary Ann(1811) and Jane(GORHAM) (1814) and Henry (1817) all came to Sydney I wondered if Hannah had died. I'll check the other Davis notes I have and we can compare dates. Thanks.

Hello Pam
Yes, l think we are from different branches of the Jarman family tree.
Our ancestors are probably cousins !!!
Your family is surely a large one - in the old days of 10 or more children per family.
Just sifting through my papers and all - you stirred me up again.
Cheers

I will sort what I have on the Davis family to see if there is any extra information for you. It may be a few days as we have grandchildren staying for the next week. Pam

Hey, no stress - when you have time.
Enjoy the grandchildren !!!
Gives me time to look at all that l have in relation to the Davis and Jarman families.
There is so much on your Jarmans on the internet - it’s been fun digging around.
Cheers

Hi Jamison
I'm glad you have a renewed interest at the moment, who knows we may break down a brick wall, all from an old message.
Where do you live?
